M'ÈMOETLÈTLAK 'ölsev wèt
sh'uufral 'ava kch'aafeenèl
Gloss:
/LIVESTOCK(11) him-GEN-LOC and(1)/
/wild(+) like lion(+)/
Transliteration:
With 11 sheep,
or wild like a lion.
Explanation:
In my conworld, someone who has 11 sheep is viewed as our upper-middle classe, but they didn't like anything that wasn't normal, so I think the term snob, is more acurate.
So this saying is that one (which is always male in my conworld... bastards!) who is extremely successful can't be that good with women.
...And of course there is the newest "È pop'eem..." saying:
È pop'eem lèm'ènev öls sh'uufral v'öngav
È pop'eem lèm'oenev öls laen SHAL'AAV
Gloss:
/(1) woman(+) mouth-LOC him-GEN wild(+) recent-past-TEMP/
/(1) woman(+) mind-LOC him-GEN soul chalaa(-)-LOC/
Translation:
The woman in his speech, means he has been wild,
The woman in his mind, means his soul is with Chalaa.
Explenation:
Your soul is with chalaa means, that you love someone. This is only relevant for men, as they have a partner choice unlike women, in my conworld. Another possible translation in this proverb is, that his soul is lost.
So this is to remind men of the fact that once they let a woman in there minds, it is permanent and that maybe they should stop thinking about her, and just keep bragging about how they slept with all those other women. Something that is very common and completely socially accepted, and if she should be pregnant a child, the man decides whether the child was concieved by Kchishèn, the devil's messenger, or by Kchaanee, the gods' messenger, (read: if he wants to keep the baby or not).

A Lover of Sorts
A wandering ace roamed far and wide
Hoping to catch some education in stride,
But Western Wedding University, dead set,
Asked her, “Have you found a lover yet?”
She said, “I am looking for one, of course,
But they must only be a lover of sorts.”
“Of sorts?” McVay curiously replied.
The ace only smiled, heart filling with pride,
For he knew not everyone could understand
That all he ever wanted was to hold someone’s hand
And cuddle at sunset on a cold winter’s night
While drinking hot cocoa by the campfire light.
A kiss or two but nothing more,
Anything else he would abhor.
A lover of sorts woul

A Test of Motherhood
Warning! This story contains vivid descriptions of nudity, a preggo doing dangerous stunts, sexual reference and childbirth.
Shebina was an elf nearing the end of her pregnancy and was taking a shower under a waterfall while rinsing her auburn shoulder-length hair at midday. She belonged to a tribe of wood elves who resided in a tropical rainforest. Her tribe had a strange and harsh rite for expectant mothers. That would be for them to survive in the jungle alone during the last few months of their gestation and drop their child unassistedly to prove that they earn the right to be parents so they were trained in jungle survival once their pr

The Scientist's Experiment: Chapter Forty-Five
“You’re not looking too well, by the way.”
Frieda eyed Zeke, who sat beside her in the hansom cab, staring vacantly into space. Baby Agatha lay cradled in his arm, sleeping in uninterrupted silence. He rubbed his eyes, which had bags under them, with a spare hand. His brain was in a fog.
“I’m not surprised. I haven’t had a full night sleep since the fever went away,” he said.
Zeke had woken up from his fevered stupor, but still dealt with another full week of battling the infection. His temperature still varied day by day, had occasional vomiting, and was overall very weak. But Zeke managed to retain

Interesting sayings with the meanings behind them! I think they sound very realistic for that sort of culture.
